Gymnaestrada 2011

Lausanne is the host to Gymnaestrada, which is world gymnastics event for gymnasts of all ages from all over the world.  We live in the middle of all the activities, which are at the Olympic stadium and Beaulieu and only a couple bus stops away.  We are within earshot of the Olympic stadium and could see and here the jets fly by as part of the opening ceremony.  Yesterday, the kids and I headed down to Ouchy today on the bus to check out some of the free city performances.  I am think I am going to like being right on the bus line as we can get most anywhere with minimal bus changes.  The kids played at the park and then enjoyed some ice cream while watching a few performances.  After the ice cream was gone, it was time to go wading in the fountain.

We have stayed pretty close to home to get Aaron potty trained.  He will stay dry all day, but can only go accident free if he isn't wearing anything on the bottom.  I don't think being naked on the bottom is part of the school uniform so will continue to take steps to being free of diapers and cleaning up after his accidents.  Next week he gets the pleasure of cleaning it himself and losing 2 stickers on his potty chart.

Last night we almost had to make our first trip to the ER.  Aaron decided to talk a small lego piece and see if it would fit up his nose.  Well it definitely fit, but didn't leave enough room for me to get it out with a tweezers.  Fortunately when Randy got home he thought of using his sinus rinse to see if it would move it enough for us to get it out.  Well, it not only moved it, it flushed it completely out.  What a huge relief!!  Only 6 more weeks until the kids are in school, not that I am counting!
